Bionic Woman
David Eick created Bionic Woman for NBC Universal Television Group, GEP Productions, and David Eick Productions in 2007. The series was a re-imagining of Kenneth Johnson's original The Bionic Woman, which was based on Martin Caidin's novel Cyborg and its TV adaption The Six Million Dollar Man. It retained its forebears' idea while adopting a more current setting. Laeta Kalogridis and Jason Smilovic also produce with David Eick. Only eight episodes were shown owing to a Writers Guild of America strike. The series was canceled due to low ratings after missing the Fall 2008 schedule. Bartender Jaime Sommers is saved from death by experimental medical implants. Jaime agrees to work for the Berkut Group, a quasi-governmental private company that conducted her surgery.
