DARLING in the FRANXX

The action takes place in the far future. Humanity builds the mobile fort city Plantation after the land is devastated. Mistilteinn, often known as the "birdcage," is where Plantation's pilots live. There are no children who have ever seen the outside world or experienced the freedom of the sky. Their lives are spent fighting to complete missions. Their adversaries are strange enormous lifeforms known as Kyouryuu, which the children fight using robots known as Franxx. Riding the Franxx validates the existence of the children. Hiro, a young boy known as Code:016, was previously regarded as a genius. He has, however, fallen behind, and his presence appears to be unneeded. It is the same as ceasing to exist if you do not pilot a Franxx. One day, he is confronted by a mysterious girl known only as "Zero Two." Her head sprouts two horns.
