Eden of the East is a Japanese anime series that debuted on Fuji TV's noitaminA hour on April 9, 2009. Kenji Kamiyama created, directed, and wrote the film, which also incorporates Chika Umino's character designs and Production I.G.'s animation production. It is the first original noitaminA series, based on an original narrative by Kamiyama. Eden of The East Compilation: Air Communication, a TV series compilation, had a limited theatrical release on September 26, 2009. There have also been two further theatrical releases. The first film, Eden of the East: The King of Eden, was released on November 28, 2009, and the second film, Eden of the East: Paradise Lost, was published on March 13, 2010. Funimation Entertainment has licensed the TV series and both features for release in North America. The series premiered in North America on the FUNimation Channel on December 27, 2010.
