Ellen
Ellen is a 109-episode American television sitcom that ran on the ABC network from March 29, 1994 until July 22, 1998. Ellen Morgan, played by Ellen DeGeneres, was a neurotic bookstore owner in her thirties in the film. The show focused on Ellen's interactions with her eccentric friends, family, and everyday difficulties. The sitcom is significant for being the first to feature a gay major character, which DeGeneres' character did in the 1997 episode "Puppy Episode." This occurrence garnered extensive media coverage, sparked controversy, and caused ABC to include a parental advice at the start of each program. The theme music for the show, "So Called Friend," is by the Scottish band Texas. The fact that each episode had its own opening credits sequence was a recurring humor, owing to Ellen's continual quest for the perfect opening credits.
