Good Luck Charlie

The first episode of the American sitcom Good Luck Charlie was broadcast on Disney Channel on April 4, 2010, marking the show's premiere. Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen are responsible for the creation of the series. Their intention was to produce a show that would be enjoyable for the entire family as opposed to just the children. It follows a Denver family, the Duncans, as they adjust to the births of their fourth and fifth children, Charlotte "Charlie" Duncan and Toby Duncan. The story is told from the point of view of the mother. In each segment, Teddy Duncan prepares a video journal for Charlie in which he offers the latter sage counsel regarding their relationship as a family and the challenges of growing up. In the video diaries that Teddy is keeping for Charlie's future reference, Teddy tries to show Charlie what she might go through when she is older. Teddy always says "Good luck, Charlie" as the final line of each video journal entry he makes for Charlie. Additionally, the show's title was changed from Oops to Love, Teddy to Good Luck Charlie in order to ensure that the show would be enjoyable for all members of a family. On April 4, 2010, the first episode of Good Luck Charlie was broadcast in the United States on Disney Channel. On April 5, 2010, it made its debut in Canada; on May 14, 2010, it debuted in the United Kingdom and Ireland; and on July 23, 2010, it debuted in Australia and New Zealand. Good Luck Charlie has been picked up for a second season, and production on the show will begin in August 2010, with the premiere of the new season taking place on February 20, 2011. In March of 2011, work began on a full-length Christmas Disney Channel Original Movie based on the series. The film, titled Good Luck Charlie, It's Christmas!, was scheduled to make its debut in December of the same year.
