A father and daughter are playing hide-and-seek in an ordinary-looking apartment. While looking for his daughter, he discovers that she is nowhere to be found... Later, a video of the girl carrying a sign with a mystery sequence of digits is posted. What exactly do they imply, though? She's the first of several children that vanish in a small industrial town without a trace. Varta Naumova and Maksim Shumov, two young detectives, take on the complicated case and... their own demons. Varta is a remote individual who is fiercely protective of her personal space, whereas Maksim appears to be a laid-back, social individual. Both have been through pain in their lives, and this case is very poignant for them. As they confront their own pasts, they become personally invested in discovering the children and apprehending the kidnapper.
