It was made between the game shows Treasure Hunt and The Crystal Maze, both produced by the same firm. Annabel Croft, a former tennis player and Treasure Hunt sky-runner, hosted the episode. Sean O'Kane as the titular Interceptor in the film. Despite the fact that Interceptor was favorably welcomed by critics and audiences, only eight episodes were produced. Despite this, the show has a cult following, which has impacted reruns on digital TV channel Challenge since 2001. In a public vote conducted by UKGameshows.com in2002, the series was rated the 13th best game show in the United Kingdom.
