Invasion is a science fiction television series that was produced in the United States and broadcast on the ABC network for a single season commencing on September 21, 2005. The show told the story of the aftermath of a hurricane in which water-based creatures infiltrate a small Florida town and begin to take over the bodies of the town's inhabitants through a cloning process. This was done in a manner that was somewhat similar to the plot of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Shaun Cassidy Productions and Warner Bros. Television were the ones responsible for the show's production. Early on-air advertising that ABC had planned to show were soon canceled when Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath wreaked havoc in the southern United States in 2005. The emphasis in the promotion was then fully shifted to the alien invasion component of the series, while the hurricane was completely left out of the conversation. In addition, a cautionary note was presented before the premiere, informing viewers that the show would contain fictitious hurricane imagery, which some people might find upsetting.
