Jam
Chris Morris wrote, directed, and produced Jam, a postmodern British dark comedy series that aired on Channel 4 in March and April of 2000. Inspired by BBC Radio 1's Blue Jam, the show featured a sequence of frightening sketches set to a soothing score. In many of the sketches, the actors lip-synched their lines to the original radio soundtracks, an unusual method that added to the show's eerie ambiance. The cast included Amelia Bullmore, David Cann, Julia Davis, Kevin Eldon, Mark Heap, and Morris himself, who had worked with them before on shows like The Day Today and Brass Eye. Peter Baynham wrote the script with Chris Morris; Jane Bussmann and David Quantick supplied more material; Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews and the cast all contributed additional material.
