Junior MasterChef is a British cooking show on TV that is put on by the BBC. Kids ages 9 to 12 compete to be named Junior MasterChef. It is a spin-off of the main MasterChef show. The first season of Junior MasterChef ran from 1994 to 1999. Loyd Grossman was the host. After a long break, it came back in 2010 with a new format. It was hosted by writer, actress, and restaurant owner Nadia Sawalha, who had been on Celebrity MasterChef, and professional chef John Torode, who also hosts MasterChef. The revival series was ordered by Anne Gilchrist, who is in charge of CBBC. Shine Television made it, and BBC One showed it. In 2012, CBBC ordered another series to be shown.
