Kath & Kim is an American adaptation of the same-named Australian television comedy series starring Selma Blair and Molly Shannon. On October 9, 2008, the series debuted on NBC. Jane Turner and Gina Riley, the original stars of the Australian version, are also executive producers and consultants on this version, which is co-produced by Reveille Productions and Universal Media Studios. Its first episode aired on the Seven Network in Australia on Sunday, October 12th, and it was cancelled after the second episode the following week. After the first-run airing of episode9, "Friends," the series was pushed to a graveyard schedule of 11 p.m. Mondays, and subsequently pre-empted for the 2009 Australian Open. NBC picked up Kath & Kim for a full season order of 22 episodes on October31,2008, despite the show's lackluster ratings and mixed reviews at the time. NBC reduced the episode order from 22 to 17 episodes on January15, 2009. The season finale of the show aired on March12, 2009. NBC confirmed the series' termination on May19, 2009.
