During the Warring States Period (475-221 BCE) in ancient China, Shin and Hyou are orphans of war in the kingdom of Qin. They hope to prove themselves on the battlefield one day. But one day, a minister takes Hyou to the palace. Hyou barely makes it back to the village after being on the losing side of a power struggle. Then Shin meets Ei Sei, a boy who looks a lot like Hyou. He is the king of Qin for now, but he will become Emperor Shi Huangdi in the future.
