My Super Sweet 16 is a reality show on MTV that follows the lives of teenagers, mostly from the US, Canada, and the UK, whose parents are usually wealthy and throw them big parties when they turn 16. Quinceaeras, Sweet 16s, and other birthdays like My Super Sweet 21 and My Super Swag 18 all have parties. On January 18, 2005, the show first aired. Hilary Duff sings "Sweet Sixteen" as the opening theme. The show has also covered a few parties for famous people when they turned 18. The show has shown parties from Bow Wow, Sean Kingston, Aly and AJ, Chris Brown, and Soulja Boy Tell Em. The show was also made in the UK, and MTV made a Spanish version called "Quiero mis quinces" or "Super Dulces 16." Exiled was a spinoff that MTV started in 2008. On the show, some parents of participants on My Super Sweet 16 send their "sweet sixteeners" to faraway countries to see if they can handle the harsh conditions. In 2009, MTV announced that My Super Psycho Sweet 16, a horror movie based on the idea of the show, would be the next one in the series. It aired on October 23, 2009, and starred Julianna Guill.
