Noir
Mireille Bouquet is an assassin by trade, and she is known for her skill in the industry. However, when she responds to an e-mail sent by a young Japanese girl named Kirika Yumura, encouraging her to go on "a pilgrimage to the past," the circumstances of her life become even more precarious than they were before. Now, with a spooky tune evoking the recollection of an event that took place a very long time ago, Mireille and Kirika make the decision to work together in order to discover the truth about a thousand-year-old organization that has controlled both of their lives since before they were born. And because this is the only clue they have been able to find, and because it is the only thing Kirika can remember about herself, it ends up becoming their working codename: Noir. Noir is a name that designates an ancient destiny involving two maidens who rule over death.
