Rawhide is an American Western television series starring Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood that originally aired on Friday nights on the CBS network from January 9, 1959 to September 3, 1965, and then on Tuesday nights from September 14, 1965 to January 4, 1966, with a total of 217 black-and-white episodes. Charles Marquis Warren, who also produced early Gunsmoke episodes, produced and sometimes directed the series. Seven and a half years long, Rawhide was the fifth-longest-running American television Western, surpassed only by Wagon Train (eight years), The Virginian (nine years), Bonanza (fourteen years), and Gunsmoke (twenty years).
