Steven Seagal: Lawman is an A&E Network reality television series starring actor and martial artist Steven Seagal as a reserve deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. On December2,2009, it made its debut. In the first episode, "The Way of the Gun," Seagal says, "I've been operating as a cop in Jefferson Parish for two decades under most people's radar." "I've decided to collaborate with A&E on this series now because I believe it's critical to show the nation all of the wonderful work that's being done here in Louisiana—to showcase the passion and commitment that the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office brings to our post-Katrina environment." Seagal's present Reserve Deputy Chief position is mostly ceremonial.
