David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith were the brains behind the creation of the American comedy series The Hard Times of RJ Berger, which aired on MTV. RJ Berger, a very unpopular sophomore at the fictitious Pinkerton High School in Ohio, who has a penis that is disproportionately enormous, serves as the show's main character. Berger's two best friends are goth girl Lily Miran, who has been yearning over Berger for several years, and Miles Jenner, whose aspirations for popularity drive him to fight with Berger. Miles Jenner is Berger's greatest buddy. Jenny Swanson, a cheerleader at the school, is the object of Berger's romantic attention. Jenny is also associated with Max Owens, a popular athlete and bully. The project is pitched as a coming-of-age tale, and Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith have compared it to a hybrid of the television series The Wonder Years and the movie Superbad. The debut of the pilot episode took place on June6,2010, while the final episode of the first season's run aired on August23, 2010. MTV decided not to continue airing The Hard Times of RJ Berger at the conclusion of its second season, which began on March24,2011, and lasted through May30,2011. The show's cancellation came in August of that year.
