From September 10, 2012, through April 2, 2013, the American sitcom The New Normal aired on NBC. Ryan Murphy and Ali Adler developed and wrote the majority of the series. The plot follows Bryan and David, a rich homosexual couple living in Los Angeles. They decide to have a child and hire Goldie Clemmons, a surrogate mother, who moves in with her nine-year-old daughter Shania.
