Tiger and Bunny is a 2011 Japanese anime television series directed by Keiichi Satou and produced by Sunrise. Masafumi Nishida wrote the screenplay, while Masakazu Katsura created the original character designs. The series premiered on Tokyo MX on April3,2011, and was rerun on BS11 and MBS until September17, 2011. The series is also being streamed on Hulu and Anime News Network by Viz Media. It is set in a futuristic city where heroes fight crime while promoting real-life sponsors, concentrating on two superheroes, the traditional "Wild Tiger" and the rookie hero Barnaby Brooks Jr., who are forced to work together by their employers. Masakazu Katsura's one-shot manga was published in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine on August4,2011, and the creation of two films based on the series was announced during a special event in November 2011. The first film, Gekij-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning, was released on September22, 2012. Gekij-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Rising-, the second feature, will be released in February 2014.
