Yu-Gi-Oh! is a 1998 Japanese anime television series created by Toei Animation and Bandai and based on the first 59 chapters of the same-named manga by Kazuki Takahashi. The series broadcast between April 4, 1998 and October 10, 1998 on TV Asahi. On March 6, 1999, an animated film based on the series was released in Japanese theaters. "A Cry of Thirst" by Field of View serves as the opening theme, while "Even If You Break Tomorrow" by Wands serves as the closing theme. In 2000, a separate adaptation of the series, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, produced by Nihon Ad Systems and Konami, began broadcasting. Outside of Japan, this series has been called "Yu-Gi-Oh! Season Zero" by fans.
