49th Parallel
An early German U-boat is lost in Hudson Bay, Canada, early in World War II. Lieutenant Hirth and his men seek to cross the border into the United States, which has not yet entered the war and is legally neutral, in order to avoid capture. Many brave men are encountered on their journey, including a Hutterite community leader, a French Canadian fur trapper and an author, all of whom are willing to risk their lives to help the German soldiers.
