A Barefoot Dream
After a series of failed business ventures, retired pro soccer star Kim Won-kang visits East Timor and sees youngsters playing soccer barefoot on rocky pitches. He sells athletic shoes to unshod children after discovering the country had no sporting goods stores. Sadly, no one there can afford $60 for a pair of shoes, even on a generous installment plan, and before he knows it, he is coaching a squad of ragged 10-year-olds and prospects are gloomy.
