A Dog Year
Jon Katz is getting tired. He's a writer who can't write, and his wife left him for her sister because he's emotionally distant and doesn't answer his phone very often. He gets a border collie from a kennel that has been abused and is not trained. Jon decides to keep trying with the dog even though things keep going wrong. He rents a run-down farm house to give the dog room to run. Jon is told about a woman who might be able to help him train the dog by a local handyman. Jon reluctantly gives her a chance. Is it the dog, or is it the owner?
