Graham Marshall, an executive on Madison Avenue, has paid his dues. He has endured increasing bills and a nagging wife with one thing in mind: a well-earned promotion. When a loud-mouthed yuppie associate is promoted, Graham vents his wrath on an overly aggressive panhandler, whom he accidentally kills by pushing into the path of an approaching subway train. He re-evaluates his problems and proposes a completely fresh approach. To begin, he arranges for his obnoxious wife to have a "accident." Then he concocts another "mishap" for his superior. Graham appears to have regained control of the world... However, a misplaced cigarette lighter and an eavesdropping police detective may alter all of that.
