Afonya
"Afonya," a movie by Georgi Daneliya that came out in 1975, was an unexpected commercial success in USSR. "Afonya" Borshev, the main character, is a plumber who spends his life partying with "friends," many of whom he doesn't even remember after a night of drinking too much. His wife leaves him, and his boss puts him on probation. His whole life is falling apart, but he doesn't know it. Afonya met Katya at a dance club, but she wasn't very interested in her. But it's only she who can save him... In this movie, Daneliya gets just the right mix of comedy and drama. Quotes from the movie became very popular in the USSR.
