Ali: Fear Eats the Soul

Emmi Kurowski, a cleaning lady in her later years, is feeling lonely. Although her spouse passed away several years ago, she has few friends among her older children. In a club frequented by Arab immigrants, she meets Ali, a middle-aged mechanic who quickly becomes a good friend of hers. Their connection quickly progresses into something more, and Emmi's family and neighbors are critical of their hasty marriage to one another. Both Emmi and Ali are soon faced with the prospect of having to face their own fears about the future.
