Kyle Cassidy, a failed musician, falls in love with Nikki Duke, the charismatic wife of an abusive rock singer who is away on tour at the time of the story. Nikki passes out and hits her head on the floor of the Dukes' Hollywood Hills mansion after a wild evening there. Kyle dials 911 in a state of panic brought on by drugs. Two recently partnered paramedics come on the scene and rouse Nikki, patch up Kyle, and then attempt to rob the duo-an attempt that swiftly goes wrong, leading the trio on an unexpected and amusing journey through Los Angeles' nighttime streets and neighborhoods.
