It's not clear how a structure that occupies a fixed area of space may make us feel transcendent. How might chapels serve as places of contemplation and prayer? For how can walls provide unrestricted mobility? Inspired by his own childhood memories, filmmaker Christoph Schaub travels to both ancient and futuristic cathedrals in search of art that will carry him to the top of the sky and deep below the ocean's surface. For this project, Sergé "Jojo" Mayer collaborates with other artists and musicians to explore how the seemingly abstract concepts of light, time, rhythm, sound, and shape can help us make sense of the world around us. They include architects Peter Zumthor and Peter Märkli as well as lvaro Siza Vieira and James Turrell. It's a multi-sensory experience thanks to the excellent cinematography.
