Artur Schnabel: No Place of Exile

During his time, Austro-German composer and musician Artur Schnabel was one of the most important people in the world. But in Germany today, he's almost forgotten. When Markus Pawlik and Dietrich Henschel and the Szymanowski String Quartet put on a show in Berlin, they played some of Artur Schnabel's best songs and made a video of it. While on the way, Pawlik stops at the places, landscapes, and history that shaped Schnabel's life and music, and he talks about them. "Artur Schnabel: No Place of Exile" brings back an important artist who was displaced by the two World Wars and the Holocaust, but who was also inspired by the possibilities of modernism, so it's a good book to read.
