The day after Jean Gabin's death, a kidnapper kills Simon Verini's wife in exchange for a large sum of money in stolen gems from Cartiers. For the juvenile group that looted Cartiers, Simon was a jewel broker, and he suspected them of the murder. During his ten years in prison, he writes to his daughter Marie-Sophie, then 11 years old, while he is falsely accused of the theft. After being released, he reunites with Marie-Sophie and the young thieves, tries to avenge himself, and ends up back in custody. She withdraws to her Swiss fiancé since she doesn't understand her father and is surprised when one of the young criminals falls in love with her. Is it feasible to find a solution when the crime affects both the families and the romantic relationships?
