Batman: Year One
Two men arrive in Gotham City: Bruce Wayne, who has spent years overseas fueling his lifelong obsession with justice, and Jim Gordon, who has been too honest a cop with the wrong people elsewhere. After bitter lessons about the city's corruption on its streets and in its police department, this pair learns how to fight back in their own manner. With that, the mysterious Batman terrorizes Gotham's evildoers from top to bottom, and the equally courageous Gordon is tasked to apprehend him by comrades who both despise and dread him. During the ensuing manhunt, both discover they have a lot in common, laying the groundwork for an unlikely friendship, with other friends and adversaries contributing to the legend's birth.
