Max Troy, a world-class video game player, is testing the newest first-person shooter from global game developer Sentinel when he sees that the events in the game are being mirrored in the real world. His guess is correct: The real-life person who plays Orson Creed in the game is real-life Orson Creed, the former employee of the company Sentinel. He is being controlled by the company for unknown reasons. As virtual and real worlds merge, Max and Creed must work together to figure out the truth before the game's sinister events spread across the city and make it uninhabitable.
