Birds Are Singing in Kigali

We meet ornithologist Anna in1994, when Rwanda is engulfed in bloodshed by the majority Hutus against the Tutsis. Anna is successful in rescuing the daughter of a colleague whose family has been slain and transports her to Poland. However, the woman returns to Rwanda to pay respects to her family members' graves. The director first collaborated on the film with her husband Krzysztof Krauze (My Nikifor – Crystal Globe, KVIFF2005), but following his death in2014, she completed the difficult film alone.
