Blood Paradise
Best-selling crime writer Robin Richards (Andréa Winter) is sent to the Swedish countryside by her publisher to find inspiration after her latest novel fails. She meets a strange cast of characters while alone, including her driver and most ardent fan, his explosively jealous wife, and the increasingly insane man who owns the farm where she is staying. Robin, who is completely out of place in her new surroundings—for one thing, she is always dressed for glamorous, big-city life—discovers just how dangerous these oddballs may be. Patrick von Barkenberg's (who also plays Robin's boyfriend) unpredictable debut feature is bathed in dreamy atmospherics and streaked with offbeat humor, but remains grounded throughout by Winter, who holds your attention rapt.
