Bowling for Columbine

Why do 11,000 Americans per year die as a result of gun violence in the United States? Speaking heads shouting from every TV camera point the finger at Satan and video games, among other things. Are we really so different from the rest of the world? What distinguishes us from each other? As both the perpetrator and the victim of so much violence, how did we get here? This is not a gun control film. Fear and the United States of America are the subject of this film, as are the 280 million Americans who have the constitutional right to an Uzi. On this journey through America, Bowling for Columbine aims at finding out why our pursuit of happiness is so tainted by violence. It begins with a look at the Columbine High School security camera tapes and ends with a young man who makes homemade napalm with The Anarchist's Cookbook and the murder of an innocent six-year-old girl.
