Burlesque
The Burlesque Lounge has seen better days. Tess, the venue's owner and a retired dancer, is fighting to keep the elderly theater alive, despite financial and artistic obstacles. With the Lounge's troupe members increasingly preoccupied by personal troubles and a threat posed by a wealthy businessman's attempt to buy Tess's position, fortune appears to have abandoned the club entirely. Meanwhile, Ali's life, a small-town Iowa girl, is about to change significantly. Ali escapes a hollow past when Tess hires her as a waiter at the Lounge. She rapidly falls in love with the art of burlesque. She achieves her dream of performing on stage by relying on newfound friends from the theater's personnel. However, things take a drastic turn when Ali's huge voice makes her the primary attraction of the arena.
