The Emperor (Chang Chen) is desperate for a nomadic existence, and he and his sister, the Princess, attempt to flee the royal palace (Faye Wong). Princess, disguised as a man, tries to escape while Prince is captured and taken to his enraged mother by royal guards. Meanwhile, King Bully (Tony Leung) has returned to his hometown, where he is universally reviled for his bullying tactics, to own a restaurant alongside his tomboy sister, Phoenix (Vicki Zhao). Their bond is really close. In actuality, King Bully erroneously believes he can read his sister's thoughts. When the Princess arrives in town, King Bully finds himself attracted to her. However, since he believes she is a male, he attributes his desire to some form of sympathy for Phoenix.
