Claire (Alexandra Breckenridge), a sophisticated venture capitalist from New York City, goes to a small Vermont hamlet for the holidays and stays at the Fortenbury Bookstore as a guest of the proprietors. Claire discovers that Christmas events have been canceled by the town as a result of a flood, and that the bookstore is in a state of disarray when she first arrives. She instantly takes on the responsibility of revitalizing the store, but she quickly runs into trouble with the proprietor, Andrew (Jamie Spilchuk), who initially rejects all of her recommended upgrades. The two eventually fall in love and begin a blossoming romance, and Claire's contagious optimism motivates Andrew to join her in reinvigorating the holiday spirit. When Claire learns that Andrew has decided to sell the bookstore in the New Year, everything comes to a grinding halt. What would it take for the spirit of Christmas to persuade Andrew to change his viewpoint and inspire him to follow his heart?
