Elizabeth Lane, a journalist, is one of the country's most well-known food writers. She describes herself in her columns as a hardworking farm woman who takes care of her children and is an excellent cook. But it's all a lie. She is, in fact, an unmarried New Yorker who can't even boil an egg. Her good friend Felix provided the recipes. The owner of the magazine for which she works has decided that a brave sailor will spend the holidays on *her* farm.
