This was Jerry Lewis' response to the traditional Cinderella tale. When Fella's father dies, he is left at the mercy of his haughty stepmother and her two nefarious sons, Maximilian and Rupert. Maximilian and Rupert attempt to locate a wealth allegedly concealed on the estate by Fella's father as he slaves away for his cruel step-family. Meanwhile, in an attempt to bolster her waning finances, the stepmother prepares a lavish gala in honor of the visiting Princess Charmein, whom she hopes would marry Rupert. Fella's Fairy Godfather eventually arrives to convince him that he has a chance of gaining the Princess on his own.
