City of Life and Death

In 1937, the Second Sino-Japanese War is at its peak. City of Life and Death takes place in that time. The Imperial Japanese Army has just taken over Nanjing, which was the capital of the Republic of China at the time, and now it's safe. It was called the Nanking Massacre, or the Rape of Nanking, and it lasted for several weeks. During this time, many Chinese soldiers and civilians were killed, as well.
