Clínica de Migrantes: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

There is a volunteer-run clinic in south Philadelphia called Puentes de Salud. It gives undocumented immigrants in the area free medical care. They work for free to help people who would otherwise not get help. Clinica de Migrantes, a powerful film by Maxim Pozdorovkin, follows the workers and patients of Puentes for months as they get regular care and learn about the world around them. People who have been displaced from their homes, separated from their families, unfamiliar with the customs, unable to get health insurance, and afraid to come forward for help are shown in the movie. Clinica also looks at the doctors and nurses who work for free to make sure these people get the care they need. This is a deeply moving look at the limitless power of humanity.
