Contempt
Producer Jeremy Prokosch, a philistine in the art cinema industry, is dissatisfied with his director's work. Prokosch has recruited Fritz Lang (as himself) to direct a version of "The Odyssey," but when it appears that the famed director is preparing a film destined to fail at the box office, he hires a screenwriter to revitalize the plot. When a gap develops between the writer and his wife, the professional and personal intersect.
