Prehistoric Gill-Man fossils have been discovered in the Black Lagoon of the Amazon River by a research expedition. It manages to elude the team's grasp, but they eventually manage to subdue it. Gill-Man returns to abduct Kay, the fiancée of an expedition member, whom it has fallen in love with after seeing her on the ship.
