Death Note Relight 1: Visions of a God

Yagami Light is a brilliant student with promising future prospects who is utterly bored. He discovers the "Death Note" one day: a notebook from the world of the Death Gods endowed with the ability to murder people in whatever manner he pleases. Light aims to establish his ideal society, free of crime and criminals, with the Death Note in hand. However, when criminals begin to disappear one by one, the authorities assign the legendary detective L to track down the killer, resulting in a battle of wits, deception, and logic...this was aired on Japanese television shortly after the death note anime was completed; this special essentially re-cuts the first 26 episodes of the series into a two-hour film with some new scenes and dialogue added, and the story told from Ryuk's perspective.
