Doctor Sleep
This encounter with Abra, an orphan with the capacity to "shine," transforms the drunken and damaged Dan Torrance. She's being targeted by a cultic group that wants to feed off of people like them in order to maintain their immortality. Stephen King's 1977 novel "The Shining" is a prequel to "Doctor Sleep," a follow-up. Dr. Sleep is set several decades after the events of the original "Shining."
