Gibby
A teenage girl named Katie is unable to come to terms with the death of her mother. Gymnastics, schoolwork, and friendships have all faded from Katie's life. When she is invited to monkeysit her science teacher's Capuchin monkey, Gibby, in the summer, everything changes. In many ways, caring for the monkey transforms her life. Katie's enthusiasm for life is rekindled by Gibby's upbeat demeanor. Aside from gymnastics, Gibby helps Katie rekindle old connections (and even locate a prospective boyfriend) and defeat her archrival, a bully who is determined to be the best at all she does.
