If you live in a city or town, it's just like any other one. Grandview, Illinois, is a small town. Tim Pearson, who is about to finish high school, wants to go to Florida and study oceanography there. He meets Michelle "Mike" Cody, and he likes her a lot. In her job, she runs the Demolition Derby place in her neighborhood. Ernie "Slam" Webster is one of the drivers in the derby. His wife is having an affair with him and wants to be with Mike later on. Tim likes Mike, and now there's going to be a lot of love triangles.
