As they float through life in a sleepy Italian village, five young guys daydream of achieving their dreams. Fausto, the group's leader, is a womanizer; Riccardo yearns for recognition; Alberto is a hopeless dreamer; Moraldo fantasizes about life in the city; and Leopoldo is a budding dramatist who dreams of becoming a successful actor. During the course of Fausto's chase after a succession of ladies, much to the dismay of his expectant wife, the other four bumble their way from one uninteresting experience to another.
