In Vietnam before Samantha Hughes was born, her father died. She didn't know him because he died before she was even born. Samantha lives with her uncle, Emmett, who also served in Vietnam, and they both work at the same job. There are three other Vietnam veterans who Emmett likes to hang out with. They have problems of their own that are connected to their war experiences. The more Samantha tries to find out about her father, the more obsessed she becomes with the idea.
